On A Winter’s Day
by Joshua Wait
On a winter’s day, blue, grey, and green
have become a single color,
and the sky and the sea are one.
Shorebirds, black flecks in the soft light, float
effortlessly in the air or on the water,
and the light behind them expands, forever.
This weightless and luminescent moment
releases all being into an awakening,
and all of life into a single breath.
