Untitled (April 2017, Santa Barbara)

On the drive back from Santa Barbara in April 2017, I watched rolling green hills move and shift and flow. Poppies, abundant after the end of several years of drought, came in patches, not as many as I would have thought, but enough to create an impression. The sky blue, eternally blue, hung luminous, wet, delicious enough to drink. I painted this color field painting of capture the feeling of witnessing such beauty.
