Noticing the Small Things

Grasshopper sits on a paint rag

I noticed a grasshopper on my paint rag this morning. It posed for a photo. All too often, it is easy to miss moments like this one. Too many times, my mind gets caught up in matters that seem more important than slowing down to notice the small things. And as if to send this message home, a butterfly, draped in the garb of her final breath, caught my attention a little later. Turning attention outward and noticing the small things around us can open up the mind to a world of beauty that surrounds us.
