Carol Aust Open Studio, May 16

Carol Aust will host an open studio on Saturday, May 16, from 11am to 5pm at 655 63rd Street in Oakland, CA. She will be sharing a new body of work, created over recent months, along with paintings by her daughter, Sophie Aust.

Aust works in acrylic on canvas and wood panels. Her figurative paintings are emotionally charged narrative fragments, often set in precarious environments where anything could happen. Sometimes celebratory, sometimes quiet or unsettling, her work explores a wide range of human desire and yearning. Her work is held in private collections throughout the United States.

Visitors are welcome to stop by throughout the day. To preview Carol’s work, visit carolaust.com.
